FL Black Bear Scenic Byway

The Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway (State Road 40) connects historic Ormond Beach to the Ocala National Forest via some of Florida’s most pristine ecosystems.

This includes Big Scrub, the world’s largest scrub forest.

This route is an amazing flashback to pristine Old Florida, consists of 30 miles of winding canopy roads along pristine waterways.

Providing access to a wide array of public lands, the Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway runs through the heart of Florida black bear habitat.
