Key West, FL: Throughout 1930’s Hemingway resided in Key West, penning some of his now classic novels. The Pulitzer prize winning author’s legacy will be commemorated Tuesday through Sunday, July 16-21, 2013, during the 33rd annual “Hemingway Days” celebration.
With scheduled events that include the popular look-alike contest, a museum exhibit of rare Hemingway memorabilia, a quirky “”Running of the Bulls” with man made bulls and a 3 day Marlin catch and release tournament to share Hemingway’s well known passion for the deep-sea sport.
There is also a 5K run and paddle board race, photo’s with “Papa Hemingway’s”, the annual arm-wrestling contest, Caribbean Street Fair, and even a birthday bash complete with cake honoring the 114th anniversary of Hemingway’s July 21 birthday.
In addition, fans can visit the author’s former Key West home, which is now a museum, at 907 Whitehead St.
