DE: Students Make Really Fresh Ice Cream

DE Exit 1B: – Well it’s farm to mouth at the UDairy Creamery. It doesn’t get fresher than this with University of Delaware agriculture students milking the cows on campus and other students making the cream for the ice cream base.

Students suggest the flavors and students manage the shop and serve you IceCreamCroppedso it’s not surprising that they make really big scoops which is how they all like their ice cream. The most popular flavor is Delaware river mud pie (vanilla with  crushed Oreos and  fudge swirl), cookie dough (dough made by students of course) and you’ll find orange cream, cherry vanilla, black raspberry, all served up on home-made waffle cones.

You can imbibe milk shakes and order ice cream cakes. The shop also stocks honey collected at the University,  yarn from their sheep, and wool blankets. They use compostable paper goods. You lick your cone at tables outside or while walking through the nearby Botanical gardens.
