NC: Build Your Own Whirligig at Wilson Festival or Dive into a Cake

Wilson, NC Exit 121: This award -winning, energetic down-town street festival celebrating community and the whimsical whirligig creations by Vollis SimpsonWilson Whirligig Festival. A whirligig is a whimsical, wind-driven works of art, like a moving mobile with spinning pieces, and are displayed throughout downtown Wilson.

More than 200 arts and crafts, food and non-profit vendors fill 5 blocks of festivities. Dance on Nash street with a variety of live music playing on 3 stages. At the heart of the festival is a free Whirli-Kidz Zone that includes performances and activities such as: Jumbo Obstacle Course, Playhouses, Whirligig Arts & Crafts,  Giant Inflatable Slide, Pit Stop Challenge and Carnival Games.

Join or watch the fun competitions including: Build Your Own Whirligig Contest, Cup Cake Challenge and the Cake Dive, where participants “dive” into the over-sized cake looking for hidden medallions.

The festival is held Rain or Shine, free parking and leashed, friendly pets are permitted.
