The Delaware Geocaching Trail (DGT) continues to gain popularity among regional travelers. Geocaching  is a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences online. To date, there are over 9,600 logs for the Delaware Geocaching Trail.

The Delaware Tourism Office has received positive feedback from avid geocachers about their geocaching experience.  One in-state geoacacher exclaimed, “I just wanted to let you know how awesome the DGT was!  We completed 21 of 24 this weekend (plus two bonus caches!) and I am stopping after work to grab the final 3 for Sussex County.  We both thought the DGT was such a cool and unique way to promote travel in the state of Delaware.  Kudos!  We had a blast traveling throughout the state this weekend!”

A geocacher from Maryland commented, “We’ve done a lot of these types of trails in the past [including trails in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania] and we agreed that the Delaware trail is one of our favorites.  So thank you for a great caching experience.”  Another geocacher from Connecticut remarked, “We just returned from our Delaware geocaching adventure, and it was fantastic!”
