Be captivated in Cool Science at Brevard Zoo Cold-Blooded Weekend, its annual Labor Day three-day weekend event, celebrating the world of cold-blooded animals.
Get acquainted with a variety of animals in the Nyami Nyami River Lodge. visit the alligator snapping turtle exhibit open in Wild Florida, check out daily feeding demonstrations including water snakes, and meet the Zoo’s diamondback terrapins.
Highlights also include tortoise races, animal encounters, including the feisty box turtle, Killer, spin for prizes on the biofact wheel, and watch toads play in the toad abode complex. Sample insects including mealworms and crickets. For the really adventurous, there is even a bug eating contest each day that includes giant scorpions and tarantulas.
