CT: A Corn Maze That’s Indispensable Fun

Middlefield, CT Exit 48, Interstate 91: Remember the joy you had as a kid when you would pull back the head on your new PEZ Candy dispenser and one of those sweet candies would pop out? At Lyman Orchards, PEZ is more than just a candy, it’s now a four-acre cornfield maze.

With more than two miles of challengingly designed, twisting and winding pathways carved in the shape of a PEZ Candy Dispenser in four acres of towering cornstalks, a hundred decision points, and just one way out, getting lost will be a lot of fun, and it’s all for a great cause. $1 of every admission is donated to the American Cancer Society.

The corn maze also has fun PEZ trivia questions as you navigate the labyrinth. Choosing the correct answer will send people in the right direction, while the wrong answer might get you a little lost. But don’t despair, there are corn cops throughout the journey stationed to help guide guests along the way.

Once you’re in town, head over to the PEZ Candy visitor center in Orange, CT where you can view the production floor, get free samples and be wowed at the huge collection of Pez dispensers and memorabilia.  There’s advertising, vintage candy paks, the space gun, a 1956 board game, international dispensers from Japan, Russia, Mexico (Bolo Bear) and a rare 1950’s PEZ girl costume. Do you know how many PEZ bricks there are in the PEZ logo?
