VA: Ride a Mechanical Bull at the K95 CountryFest

Doswell, VA Exit 98: K95 CountryFest at The Meadow brings a full day of country fun back to Caroline County. Take in concerts all day long and in between sets partake in some of the activities at the CountryFest Playground.

NC: 100 Miles of Endless Yard Sale on Highway 301

NC  Exits 72-180: This is the 3rd Annual 301 Endless Yard Sale, a 100 mile stretch of highway in NC through Halifax, Nash, Wilson, Johnston, and Harnett Counties.

Patterned after the long established 127 Longest Sale and inspired by the HGTV television show “Flea Market Flip”, explore North Carolina’s country roads where communities along US 301 will join together by  holding yard sales, sidewalk sales and special promotions with deals, crafts, antiques, collectibles and rare finds along a 100 mile stretch of highway between Kenly and Benson, in Johnston County….and now sites will be found in Halifax, Wilson and Harnett Counties as well.

NH: Market Square Day in Portsmouth is Pedestrian Friendly

Portsmouth, NH Exit 7: Market Square Day takes place on the second Saturday in June each year kicking off the summer season at the Seacoast.

It is estimated that between 60,000 – 80,000 people walk through Downtown Portsmouth on this one day enjoying the entertainmenttasty offerings by local restaurants, non-profits and food vendors and the plethora of products by artists, crafters and local merchants.

The day kicks off with the MSD 10K Road Race, where  2,000 runners and competitive walkers make their way around town finishing at Historic Strawbery Banke.

Three performance stages feature live music by local and regional musicians. Most of Downtown Portsmouth is vehicle-free and pedestrian-friendly.
