From 2011-2015, visitors can visit Richmond and participate in the 150th anniversary of both the American Civil War and Emancipation. There are even special exhibitions and events planned for the anniversaries. You can go on a torch lit walk along the Richmond Slave Trail just like African Americans of centuries past.
