NC Exit 95: There is fun for the whole family when Smithfield honors their agricultural history with their 30th annual Ham & Yam Festival.
Activities including a barbecue cook-off, “What’s That Yam Thing?” contest, Miss Ham & Yam pageant, Rubber Duck Race, Hot Dog Eating Contest, and food vendors with both ham & yam offerings.
You can also stroll through hundreds of booths with vendors selling items including garden flags, handbags, kitchen tools, handmade jewelry and arts and crafts.
This family event keeps crowds entertained with performances on three stages,
Pig Races
children’s games, face painting, carnival rides, pig races, and a petting zoo. FREE concert Friday and Saturday nights.
