Remembering the Struggle, Hail the Pride

The brand new Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture, an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute, is located just blocks from Baltimore’s famous Inner Harbor.

It highlights 350 years of African American history and culture. There are three permanent galleries: Family & Community, Art & Enlightenment and Building Maryland, Building America

The halls hold interactive learning centers, a resource center, a theater, a recording/listening oral history studio and more.

The museum will be a place to remember struggle, celebrate accomplishments and experience culture – a beacon of pride and inspiration for all people.
