Lecture on Connecticut’s Role in the Civil War April 21

Don’t miss Dr. Matthew Warshauer‘s lecture based on his new book, Connecticut in the American Civil War: Slavery, Sacrifice and Survival.

His presentation will touch upon Greenwich‘s contributions to the war effort, our war memorial (corner of Putnam and Maple avenues) and plans under way to mark the state’s 150th commemoration of the Civil War.

A professor of history at Central Connecticut State University and author of three books, Dr. Warshauer is a specialist on 19th century political and constitutional history.

He currently serves as co-chair of the Connecticut Civil War Commemoration Commission and is helping to coordinate activities for Connecticut’s Sesquicentennial events.
