MD: Dog Day Afternoon: Costumes, Dog Artists and Tail-Wagging Fun

Columbia, MD Exit 43, route 100: Inviting all canines and their people to the  9th Annual Dog Day Afternoon hosted by the Columbia Association. What better way to spend an afternoon than with man’s best friend and this event promises a dog-gone good time for dogs and humans alike.

Dog lovers can enter their four-legged friends into the Tail-Wagging Contest, Bone-Eating Contest, Columbia’s Cutest Canine Contest, Most Fashionable & Best Costume Show, and more.

Some of the featured entertainment includes: music, raffles, food (for dogs and humans), off-leash play and treats, face painting, arts and crafts station, caricature artists who do drawings of your dog, and pet communications readings with pet communicator Emerald DuCoeur.

Admission to Dog Day Afternoon is FREE. Pet readings $10 for 10 minutes. Caricature drawings are $5 for black-and-white and $10 for a color. Only cash  will be accepted during Dog Day Afternoon. A portion of the proceeds will benefit a local shelters, rescues. Donations of  dog/cat food, treats, biscuits, new toys will be collected and donated to local shelters, rescues.
