Elkton, MD,  from points N -Exit  3 DE (Route 273 W), from points S – Exit 100 MD (Route 272N): When was the last time you saw a grown man lift a near tree to his chest and heave it dozens of feet away? Here’s your chance at the  56th Annual Colonial Highland Gathering at Fair Hill Race Track.

Spend a full day watching Highland dancing, piping and drumming competition, Scottish-style fiddling competition, musical guests, Scottish traditional athletic events, sheep dog demonstrations and workshops on Scottish-style fiddle playing.

Scots and Would-be Scots carry on the traditions of these games that have stood the tests of time over the past 800 years. Enjoy  the heritage, the people and the music. Meet authentic Scottish folk, watch the massed bands perform, browse the various exhibits and vendors and visit the Clachan or Village of Clans, and be sure to stop at the International Association for Tartan Studies Clan Tent where you can locate your clan and view your tartan.
