GA: Be Prepared to Get Soaked at a Giant Water Fight!

Tybee Island, GA, Exit 99: A parade that’s a giant water fight? You’ve heard right.  Come prepared to be soaked at the 30th Annual Tybee Beach Bum Parade.

This Tybee Parade has its origins in the 1980s when two Tybee softball teams barraged each other with water balloons up and down Butler Avenue after a rather heated game. It looked like so much fun that everyone wanted to join in and it soon became an official event.

This popular annual tradition on Tybee Island will feature a parade as well as a massive island-wide water fight. Parade floats will be filled with water-throwing paraphernalia as spectators line up along the parade route on Butler Avenue armed with buckets of water, squirt guns and hoses ready for battle, dousing the passing by parade floats.

This event is an all-out water war for fun-loving beach bums of all ages, don’t forget to bring your own water guns. Don’t miss this FREE family-friendly water fight, which has been a true Tybee Island custom since 1987. Tybee locals look forward to this event all year so be prepared to have FUN.
