Canada: Agawa Canyon, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario – Wearing Bridal Veil Falls on my Head

Often people take photos without realizing how things are lined up. Here the Bridal Veil Falls have been placed on my head as a bridal veil. No, I wasn’t getting married in Agawa Canyon Park.

Canada: Toronto, Ontario – Mural Near Dog Park

Fun Trompe d’oeil mural on wall near a dog park in downtown Toronto. So cool that a bride and groom are taking photos here. Maybe they have a doggie? Some of the windows are real. Can you tell which ones?

FL, Daytona Beach: Vettes at the Lighthouse XII

Completed in 1887, the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is a fascinating piece of Florida history. It towers over others as the tallest lighthouse in Florida, offering spectacular, 360-degree views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.

If you are feeling adventurous you can climb the 203 steps to the top and be rewarded with some truly breathtaking scenery and one-of-a-kind photo opportunities.
There’s an on-site museum featuring a fascinating rare Fresnel Lens exhibit, artifacts on lighthouse life and shipwrecks.

On May 11th, from 10am – 2pm, over one hundred Corvettes of all ages will be on display at Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Vettes at the Lighthouse XII, hosted by the Ponce Inlet Corvette Club,  the car show will feature music, door prizes, food, silent auction and trophies. This is a must-see for every car enthusiast. All proceeds are donated to local charities.

Italy, Florence: Florence Through a Window

So many artistic vistas in Florence.

Switzerland, Lucerne: Cute Swiss Army Guy

.

The Swiss Army marketers sure know how to make you smile, stop, take a photo, and yes, perhaps walk in and buy something. Okay we bought a Swiss Army Knife. One of my favorite gifts has been the Swiss Army card; It’s the size of a credit card, fits in your wallet and has the necessary gadgets hidden in it.

France, Paris: Do You See a Bride?

.

We thought we were taking a photo of a photo of a bride while on our Bateau Mouche ride on the Seine. However, when we examined the photo at home, we noticed the man in the left corner with his back to us. What do you think he was doing?

France, Paris: Eiffel Tower from Hotel Window

.

How often do you get to wake up in the morning, look out your window and see the Eiffel Tower greeting you? Or graphics of Notre Dame Cathedrale putting you to sleep at night? We enjoyed the modern Novotel 14 Porte d’Orleans on a Trafalgar Costsaver tour.

Great Britain, London: Harry Potter Train Platform

.

When in London, kids make a pilgrimage to the Kings Cross tube station where Harry Potter left for Hogwarts on special platform numbered 9 3/4. When we first visited this spot, a decade ago, there was the simple sign on the wall. It was a real treasure hunt to find it in the station.
Nowadays, it’s very easy. Just look for the giant lineup of kids and their parents willing to pay to take photos in front of it – AND- the very busy shop next door selling everything Harry Potter possible. You don’t need to pay to get into the Tube to get to this part of the station.

Great Britain, London: A Prince of a Man

.

A chance to “dress up” as Prince Albert in Kensington Palace, London.
