When we’re on the road for weeks at a time, we set up radio and TV show interviews to coincide with our travels. For the TV shows, Sandra likes to get her hair done professionally so she’s always trying to find local beauty parlors along the way that aren’t too pricey and do her hair well.
We have a favorite salon in Walterboro SC, at exit 57 owned by Mitchell Headden. We love it because it is like a meeting place, almost a coffee shop hang-out in the neighborhood. It has a cozy, “you’re invited to our party” feel. If you’re there at lunchtime, Mitch has been known to call out for a pizza and feed everyone in the shop. If you have questions about the area, someone in there or someone they know is going to be able to help you. Best of all, he is fabulous at doing hair – even Stan waits to get his hair cut here.
It’s small, but is a full service salon (associated with Redken), so yes you can have your hair colored or get foil highlights, get a perm and your manicure and pedicure but you can also get a chemical straightening, facials, microdermabrasion, body wraps or a make-over. Mitchell travels to NYC and around the US for salon shows and to do his customers hair. Stop and say hello for us, and join his party….
