VA Exit 130: We never though about extended stay hotels, like Residence Inn for the quick overnight drivers on I-95. However these properties are fabulous for families or caravans of friends who drive together. If you book one room with 2 bedrooms, it’s less expensive, and you get a living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and laundry facilities.
From Mon-Thurs in the early evening there is a complimentary reception with enough nibbles that you could skip dinner. The hot breakfast is way beyond the norm for motels, we had potato pancakes, and sausage hash on ours. Their facilities offer much more, like sports courts, indoor pool, whirlpool, and a bbq/picnic area. There’s even complimentary grocery shopping if you need it.
