Weston Plantation in VA

Listed on the national Register of Historic Places, Weston Plantation is an elegant, five-bay home with a hipped roof-the very essence of the eighteenth-century Tidewater plantation mansion.

Vistors learn about the ordinary individuals who lived in this house through extraordinary times in American history.

One Weston family has its roots in the 17th century Colonial America, another flees the Union Army finding shelter here, and an immigrant family that began a new life during Reconstruction.

Visitors get a chance to experience the home where the stories took place.

Did you know that Emma Woods, a 12 year-old who lived at Weston Plantation, wrote a memoir of her Civil War experiences there.

A popular annual event called ‘Emma Days’ allows children to learn about life in a time long past.
