MD: Tours of Oriole Park at Camden Yards

Exit 53: Oriole Park at Camden Yards – This baseball field is located in what was a railroad center, and is only 2 blocks from the birthplace of baseball’s most legendary hero, George Herman “Babe” Ruth. His father operated Ruth’s Cafe on the ground floor of the family residence located at Conway St. and Little Paca, which amazingly is now center field at Oriole Park!

Tours of the park lasting 1 1/2 hours are given daily from Mar-Nov, except on afternoon game days. Expect to visit the club level suites, press box with broadcasting booths, the jumbotron scoreboard control room and the dugout.

Learn about Janet Marie Smith, the environmental designer who turned Camden Yards into a new old-fashioned urban ballpark, why the lawns get mowed in 4 patterns, the 1st female baseball groundskeeper and Babe Ruth, of course.

Tour Hours: M-Sat 10, 11,12,1; Sun 12, 1,2,3.
