MD: Murder Mystery Dinner at Elkridge Furnace Inn

MD Exit 47A : The Elkridge Furnace Inn started as a tavern in 1744. The setting on the Patapsco River, graced by linden, holly and magnolia trees, now houses a special occasion French-trained chef-ed restaurant offering seasonal menus. Inside notice the staircase with tiger maple spindles, original floors and 12 fireplaces to warm your toes.

On the night of the murder mystery, enjoy a scrumptious seated dinner while  the story of the victim and the suspects is rendered. Then explore and search, scavenger hunt style, through the manor home by following riddles that lead to clues. Dessert and coffee is served as the murderer is revealed and clues are made clear. Prizes are awarded to the best costume/ character and for the group who solves the mystery first.

On all other nights, Chef Daniel Wecker might prepare rabbit gnocchi sauteed with peas, onions, shallots topped with a smoked gouda cream sauce, rack of lamb or buttermilk battered quail on blueberry waffles with a chili orange relish, bouillabaisse or perhaps a lobster pie. There’s always a steak menu, chicken breast and, of course, French onion soup.
