FL: Scuba-Diving Easter Bunny Hides Eggs off Florida Keys

Key Largo, FL : Each year a scuba-diving Easter bunny hides hard-boiled eggs in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary for an underwater Easter egg hunt.

The undersea Easter Egg Hunt, opened to divers and snorkelers visiting the Florida Keys who want participate,  is a fundraiser that helps Keys children in need throughout the year, and is staged by Keys dive operator Spencer Slate and his Captain Slate’s Scuba Adventures.

For this annual event Slates gets garbed in a giant bunny suit and dive gear to hide brightly colored eggs. Real eggs and nontoxic colorings are used to avoid any negative environmental impact.
