NC: Delight in Birds Eating Out Of Your Hands

Scotland Neck, NC Exit 171: Anticipate observing more than 2,000 ducks, geese, swans, and other exotic birds from around the world at Sylvan Heights Bird Park.

The 18-acre facility is designed for an unforgettable experience, featuring large, walk- through aviaries displaying birds from South America, North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Tranquil gardens and lush natural areas enhance the beauty of the birds on exhibit.

Enhancements such as the Bird’s Nest Treehouse (wheelchair accessible), and Beaver Pond Blind, offer a scenic view of eastern North Carolina’s native animals and plants, and their habitats, and be captivated by a glass-topped  incubator with ducklings hatching.

The Landing Zone, an interactive exhibit allows visitors an up-close and personal experience. Purchase a feed stick and birds, such as Budgerigar parakeets, fly right up to you and eat out of your hands.
