VA: Speeding to the Finish Line – Soap Box Derby

Fredericksburg, VA Exit 130: People of all ages are invited to experience summer fun and great races from one of Fredericksburg’s long-held traditions: the 20th annual Fredericksburg Soap Box Derby featuring 4 different divisions including a category for Special Needs Children.

Spirits run high among competitors, children 8-20 yrs as they compete in this classic non-motorized car race down William St. at top speeds to become the next champion in their division.

Spectators line William Street cheering and ringing cowbells in support of their racers. You’ll get a tremendous sense of community when you bring out the family and watch kids from the area speed to the finish line.  Take advantage of the great food and activities at the top of the hill, near the start line. Admission FREE.
