New Zealand: Hamilton Gardens – Wooden Mural
This depiction of real life and imagined life in Hamilton Gardens was an unpaid labor of love for carvers Derek Kerwood and Meghan Godfrey. For this unbelievably intricate carving, the wood came from a single camphor laurel tree which grew on the nearby Waikato river bank.

Canada: Sault Ste Marie, Ontario – Ontario Game at Outspoken Brewing
Some people play games with people’s heads in a bar. Others play games on a board. This wooden one was a new one for me, called Crokinole which we played at Outspoken Brewing in Sault Ste. Marie. It was really hard to get in the middle.
Canada: Sault Ste Marie, Ontario – Black Beaver Falls
At the Agawa Canyon Park, the River Trail will take you to these high roaring Black Beaver Waterfalls. Wooden viewing platforms make it all easy and enjoyable.
Switzerland, Lucerne: Covered Walk in Lucerne
.
There’s a pretty riverside promenade in Lucerne. Chapel Bridge is one of the oldest wooden bridges in Switzerland as it was mentioned in writing around 1367. As you walk it, look up underneath the roof and you will be surprised to see paintings there. A prominent Water Tower here had been used as a dungeon, an archive, and a treasury vault. These were parts of the oldest medieval city ramparts of Lucerne. You can also take a peek into St. Peter’s Chapel.

US: Palm Beach FL – Celebrate Easter in Style at The Flagler Museum’s Egg Hunt
Imagine an Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds of the glorious Flagler Museum…The Gilded Age estate was a 55-room winter retreat built in 1907 as a wedding present for Henry Flagler’s 3rd wife Mary Lily Kenan Flagler. Today, Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public as the Flagler Museum, featuring guided tours, changing exhibits, and special programs.
Children are invited to hunt for more than 8,000 eggs on the Museum’s Lawn and in the Cocoanut Grove. The Museum grounds will be sectioned off into age-appropriate areas so everyone, including toddlers, will have an opportunity to participate.
When the Museum gates open at 9am children will be visited by the Easter Bunny. Don’t forget your camera as this is a great photo-op with the Bunny and the grandeur of the museum as a backdrop. There will be an Easter Craft Activity Table, where children can engage in Easter-themed art projects, face painting, balloon sculptures, and play a game of Bean Bag Toss.
The egg hunt begins promptly at 10am. The Easter Egg Hunt for children age four and under will be held on the Southeast Lawn with 3,500 hidden eggs. For kids ages five and older the Hunt is in the Cocoanut Grove with 4,500 hidden eggs. Look for the golden egg to win a special prize.

Canada: Montreal, Quebec – SOS Labyrinth at Vieux-Port de Montréal
The SOS Labyrinth is one of the great family attractions at Montreal’s Old Port. Essentially, you have to make your way through this huge complex maze and find 4 items: the Captain’s hook, a pair of Dutch wooden shoes, a travel wallet and a Cuban pitchfork. The stories behind these items can be found on the wall as you enter the labyrinth, and they are also on their web site. Plan to spend about an hour here.
