Palm Beach, FL Exit 79B: Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival Presents ‘The Taming of the Shrew”. This Shakespeare by the Sea XXVI FREE outdoor professional theater experience will have the actors appear to be in the atmosphere of a Kentucky Derby, making the costumes and scenery particularly engaging.
The Taming of the Shrew is one of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies, written nearly a decade before Much Ado About Nothing. The underlying themes of the production, are the century-long debates on social hierarchy, women’s places in society and how basic human desires supersede all.
Audience members are invited to bring their beach chair, blanket, picnic basket or enjoy food truck concessions. The gates open at 6:30 pm with performances starting at 8 pm. Free Admission, but a $5 donation is suggested.
